The Author, Stephen Chbosky, is an American author. His best work and the most well-known book is The Perks of Being a Wallflower. He is not just a writer for books but he also a screenplay writer. Chbosky worked very very heavily on the movie adaptation of The Perks of being a Wallflower as well as the live action version of Beauty and the Beast and the movie adaptation of the movie version of a book called Wonder.
After graduating High School, from Upper St. Clair High, Stephen Chbosky met a man named Stewerd Stern. In the book, there is a character named Bill, an English teacher, who impacts Charlie in a very big way. Chbosky based this character Bill on Stern, it showed the positive influence that stern had on Chbosky. The Perks of being a Wallflower is a semi-autobiography because some of the experiences that Charlie and his friends, Sam, Patrick, Mary Elizabeth, and more, go through are kind of related to eperiences that he had as a child. Such as a friend like Stern someone who impacted him in a positive way. Another way that Charlie kind of shows Chbosky is the whole aspiring to be a writer ever since Chbosky was young he wanted to be a writer as did Charlie. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is an amazing book and I beleive that stephen Chbosky wrote this just to connect with younger audiences and give them the MOST relatable high school/coming of age stories EVER. This man, Stephen Chbosky, is a very kind-hearted happy person and he works hard to do what he does. He works hard on his books and his movies. The perk of being a wallflower is by far some of his best work and I hope that it will live on and remain to be the MOST relatable high school/ coming of age stories out there. |
